Train with Alysa!

Alysa has been working and volunteering with animals since 2007, gaining experience with companion animals, farm animals, reptiles, and even wild animals!

In 2017, she discovered her passion for dog training. She has since dedicated herself to helping dogs live happier, more fulfilled lives alongside their families. The approach she utilizes emphasizes client education… Which empowers pet owners to build stronger, lasting bonds with their dogs.

Over time, her specialty has become puppy training, rescue dogs, and aggression cases. She has a soft spot for helping rescue dogs become their best selves. Some of her main topics include genetics, play style, mental and physical stimulation, obedience, confidence building, and cooperative care.

Outside of her training, Alysa lives an adventurous life. You can frequently find her out hiking and kayaking with her husband, children, personal dogs, and even her cat! You may also run into her out volunteering at local animal shelters or at adoption events within the community. Her heart lies in photographing the less adoptable bully breeds to help get them adopted!

Train with Alex!

Alex has always had a passion for animals, dogs in particular. As a child, she enjoyed teaching her family dog fun tricks she learned from watching Animal Planet. However, she began her professional journey while working on her Psychology degree at Illinois State University in 2012. As she was gaining knowledge on learning theory, she was getting her start utilizing operant behavior techniques to teach basic obedience skills to the local adoptable dogs who visited her class weekly for the students to practice their techniques.

Upon achieving her BS in Psychology, Alex knew she wanted to continue working with animals. She volunteered with Wright Way Rescue, continued her education by completing a certificate in Applied Animal Behavior with UW, and had the opportunity to apprentice under a local trainer developing her professional career.

Throughout this journey, Alex fell in love with raising German Shepherds for IGP and enjoys the process of showing and trialing. Raising dogs to be successful in the home and on the sport field by providing them with proper socialization, creating strong foundations of obedience, and building engagement are skills that Alex excels in and loves to share with her clients as she believes this foundation is paramount to every human and dog relationship. Her background in sport training brings a flair and creativity to working with your pet dogs in your home. There is no goal too big or too small for her to help you achieve.

Outside of working with dogs, Alex enjoys trying new foods, spending time in Chicago to see live music, and a really good cup of coffee from Summer Moon (no really, she’s obsessed).

Alex has an approximately 30 mile service area surrounding Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Although, she will take referral clients beyond this area upon request.
